May Dongmei Wang

Dr. May Dongmei Wang is The Wallace H Coulter Distinguished Faculty Fellow, professor of BME, ECE and CSE, Director of Biomedical Big Data Initiative, Georgia Distinguished Cancer Scholar, Petit Institute Faculty Fellow, Kavli Fellow, FAIMBE, FIEEE, and FIAMBE. She received BEng from Tsinghua University China and MS/PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT). Her research and teaching are in Biomedical Big Data with AI-Driven Intelligent Reality (IR) for predictive, personalized, and precision health with 270+ referred articles (13,500+ GS-Citations), and delivered 280+ invited and keynote talks. Besides being the Senior Editor of IEEE Journal of Biomedical & Health Informatics (IF=7.02), and Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. On BME, and IEEE Review of BME, she is a panelist for NIH CDMA study section, NSF Smart and Connect Health, and Brain Canada. She chairs IEEE-EMBS BHI-Technical Community and ACM SIGBio. She is an awardee of GIT Outstanding Faculty Mentor for Undergrad and Emory University MilliPub Award for a high-impact paper cited over 1,000 times. In the past, she was also Carol Ann and David Flanagan Distinguished Faculty Fellow, GT Biomedical Informatics Program Co-Director in ACTSI, Bioinformatics and Biocomputing Core Director in NIH/NCI-Sponsored U54 CCNE. She has been supported by NIH, NSF, CDC, GRA, GCC, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Enduring Heart Foundation, Coulter Foundation, Shriner’s Hospitals, Microsoft Research, HP, UCB, and Amazon.

Focusing on biomedical computing and modeling such as biomedical informatics, bio-molecular and medical imaging data processing, data management and visualization, bio-molecular pathway modeling, and telemedicine.
