Biography
Katy received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech and was awarded the College of Engineering Helen Grenga Outstanding Female Engineer Award. She fulfilled a Whitaker International Fellowship at Imperial College London where she studied hematopoietic stem cells using a zebrafish model. She continued her graduate education as a National Science Fellow at Georgia Tech. She is currently studying methods for using materials to enhance the angiogenic potential of mesenchymal stem cells.
